Mist is meant to be a minimal DIY dropbox free software replacement.

Scenario: you have access to a reliable server via ssh and you want to keep some files in sync on several machines. You can use mist on each of the machines and make the server work as a hub for the storage sync.

It is currently implemented as a POSIX shell script wrapping unison over ssh. In a next iteration it will support inotify to work as background daemon and will be able to send desktop notifications if the user wants to.

It is possible to use several profiles at once in case you want to use several folders to sync on different servers.
